  1. How big is the workshop space?

The workshop space has the same square footage as the space at Greenfield road but is a slightly different shape…and it has windows! You can see an image of it above

  1. Is there a timeline for the move yet?

Yes. We’re closing down the Greenfield Road space on the 14th April. We’re hoping to re-open the space at Hoxton Works on the 22nd April and there will be an open welcome party on the 14th May, from 5pm to 7pm.

  1. Will the move interrupt workshops/courses?

We will try to make sure that any courses have as little disruption as possible and will try to plan them around the move. If we need space during the transition, then we will look into renting out some rehearsal rooms at Hoxton Hall.

  1. Will we get to perform on the main stage of the Hoxton Hall theatre?

We’re still in negotiations, but the hope is that we will be able to use the stage a few times a year, possibly for sharing’s or other events.

  1. What’s the local area like?

Hoxton Hall sits right on Hoxton High Street in the centre of the East End. There’s a range of shops and cafes and some days of the week, there is a market on the road. There is a small, but very well kept and pretty park just moments away,  Shoreditch park is a 10 minute stroll and we’re a few minutes walk from Regents Canal.

Other cultural venues in the area include Shoreditch Town Hall (10 minute walk), Museum of the Home ( 5 minute walk) and Hoxton Street Monster Supplies – A writing club for children disguised as a monster supply shop.

  1. How accessible is the building?

We will be based in a first floor office in Hoxton Works, right next to the theatre. The workshop space and office are accessible by one flight of stairs, or a lift. We’re working with a member focus group to try and make sure we make our new space as accessible as possible for members with different access needs.

  1. Will anything about Citz change?

We’re going to keep running workshops, working with you and each other to make Citz a welcoming, vibrant place. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with other organisations, and bed down into the local community. We will keep running workshops as always, except now, we’re in a theatre!

There will be some adjustments as we get used to the building and how the space works, but we’ll make sure you have any information you might need when using the space.
