This workshop is an introduction to soundtracks and sound design for theatre and film.
Participants will remix scenes from popular movies and work in groups to create their own immersive soundscapes.
Accomplished soundtrack composer and DJ Conrad Kira will break down what it’s like to work as a soundtrack composer from a non-traditional background, and how to turn that into a strength.
No previous experience necessary!
This workshop is open to Young People aged 18 – 30 who have lived experience of, or may be facing, challenging or unstable life circumstances. (This includes those who are care leavers, young carers, experience of homelessness, living in temporary or unstable housing, not currently in employment, education or training, or in receipt of Universal Credit)

About Conrad Kira

Emerging from the beat-soaked streets of South East London, Conrad Kira is a multifaceted artist celebrated for his work as a producer, composer, and sound designer. Born and raised in vibrant Peckham, he has created evocative soundtracks and immersive soundscapes for theatre and film, including projects for Talawa, 20 Stories High, Tamasha, Orange Tree Theatre, Half Moon, and Cardboard Citizens, as well as screen work published by Film4 and Netflix.
Conrad also DJs regularly, bringing a rhythmic and dynamic sensibility to his compositions. He runs creative workshops, supporting young people to explore music and sound and giving them the platform to develop and create their own sonic ideas. His work draws inspiration from UK Garage and Grime energy, and atmospheric video game and anime soundtracks, adding depth and texture to every project.
