We recently led some Zoom-based workshops – titled Zooming In – for young people working with Depaul UK. Programmes Assistant Aliyah Forde writes about the experience:

My name’s Aliyah and I was the workshop assistant for Zooming In, supporting Dan Boyden (facilitator) and Terell (Youth Ambassador) in the workshops.

Zooming In with Depaul covered a variety of fun icebreakers and also creative writing during the sessions and in participants’ own time. Working from different stimuli, we helped the group get used to working together, to share parts of who they are as individuals, and – as a group – create a piece of spoken word.

Getting creative and connecting online in such uncertain times really was something special. It has been such a highlight to work with these young participants, who really enjoyed working together, despite it being online and us all being in lockdown. They arrived as strangers, and became such an awesome group – always supporting each other. It helped to have such a great support team, with Terell, Dan and the Depaul Staff!

Go Zooming In!
