This month, we are finally moving in to Hoxton Works in Hackney, situated in the same Grade II listed building as the historic Hoxton Hall, located five minutes from Hoxton Overground station.

We are very much looking forward to being part of the thriving network of creative businesses in the area and we are actively seeking to make lots of new friends and partnerships. We will have our own office and a Members’ workshop space, also access to Hoxton Hall’s performance space and professional rehearsal rooms and studios.

Built in 1863, Hoxton Hall has a rich history of community engagement and performance by and for people with experience of homelessness and poverty. The music hall already become an inspiring backdrop for some of our work, with Members having performed there in December 2023 and our forthcoming short film series, More Than One Story, being filmed there. More Than One Story comprises nine monologues by leading writers with experience of homelessness, poverty or inequity and aims to disrupt the stereotypes, generalisations and misconceptions around homelessness in the UK today. Performed largely by Cardboard Citizens Members and directed by Chris Sonnex, we look forward to presenting the films this summer in partnership with The Big Issue.

This move to Hoxton Works is an exciting new chapter for Cardboard Citizens! Our new address will be 128 Hoxton St, London N1 6SH, and is sure to become a creative hub for our community. The nearest station is Hoxton Overground  station. It is also within walking distance from Old Street station (around 12 minutes). Check out our FAQ page here for further information.
