In December, we hosted two events around the Vagrancy Act of 1824, as part of our ongoing collaboration with Professor Nick Crowson of the University of Birmingham.

The events looked at different aspects of the Act, animating Professor Crowson’s work through readings and performances by Cardboard Citizens Members, and discussions with panel members from Crisis and Pathway.

The events covered Health & Wellbeing, and the Act itself, looking at the implementation of the wide-ranging powers it affords the authorities, and discussing the contemporary campaign to Scrap The Act.
