Here is the final play in the series of audio recordings from the Resistance Theatre project.

Resistance Theatre is a body of work created by our Members. Over the past year a group have been coming together to write short plays about the housing crisis and record music inspired by these issues – thinking about what might be ahead and what can be done to help.

A recording from the series will be published each week on the website and you will be able to hear the whole series on soundcloud. The next in the series is Empty House written by Jill Power and performed by Cardboard Citizens Members (see a full list of credits below).

More about the play

I wrote Empty House because I find it incomprehensible that there are so many empty properties in London- and they are usually a person’s 2nd or 3rd unoccupied property. When we are faced with a homelessness and refugee crisis this is not only unjust but should be challenged even criminalised. The piece asks questions around who deserves wealth and who belongs. The voice of reason is constantly battered down by obnoxious hatred fuelled opposition. The hostilities expressed are views from journals such as The Daily Mail .
