This July, the Almeida Theatre will be staging a play about a woman in her 70s and her grandson, taking the shape of a day in their lives and a road trip around numerous different places in Islington.
They’re really keen to meet Members of Cardboard Citizens, get to know you and tell you a little about the project. As part of the play’s creation process, they’re really interested in hearing stories and thoughts from anyone who’s ever lived in, spent time in, gone out in, travelled through, or simply had any experience of the borough of Islington.
The workshop will be a relaxed session with some games, sharing of stories and a creative writing task, culminating in a small performance. It will be led by director Jack Nurse, joined by the playwright Annie Jenkins and Dani Parr from the participation team at the Almeida Theatre.
This session will take place at Cardboard Citizens HQ, from 3pm – 5pm.
