Join us for the final part of performances and discussions around the Vagrancy Act. The focus of this event will be stories of those people affected by the act in Coventry and the West Midlands.

This is part of a research project conducted by historian Professor Nick Crowson (from University of Birmingham) who has scoured court reports, newspapers, asylum and workhouse records across the Midlands over 150 years, to trace the lives of homeless individuals ‘on the tramp’ – that is, continually turned out of towns and cities under the terms of the Vagrancy Act. The performance is directed by Adrian Jackson MBE.

Joining Prof Nick Crowson and Adrian Jackson on the panel will be Underground Lights member Rob. Underground Lights is one of the Belgrade Theatre‘s Springboard Companies – run for and by adults experiencing social disadvantage, homelessness and/or mental health issues in Coventry, Warwickshire and the surrounding area.

The event starts at 6pm and will be broadcast on Zoom.
