About Poetic Unity 

Ryan J. Matthews Robinson

Ryan J. Matthews-Robinson better known as Ragz-CV is a spoken word artist from Brixton, South London. The poet of mixed-race heritage (Jamaican and Irish) is known for his amazing work with the release of his E.P. ‘Paying Homage to the King’ in 2012 produced by his Granddad raising over £10,000 for ‘Alzheimer’s Society’ charity in sales. Ragz has been nominated for 12 awards in the last few years winning 4 of them including Outstanding Contribution to Spoken Word at the London Chamber of Commerce Black Excellence Awards 2022. Performing at over 300 shows including prestigious venues such as Brixton o2 Academy, Fairfield Halls and Kia Oval, Ragz-CV is a well-known name on the circuit.

Ragz released his acclaimed spoken word album Soul Lyrical in 2019 which led on to a sold-out launch party and over 300 hard copies of the album sold. Ragz-CV is the founder and CEO of Brixton charity Poetic Unity which provides support and services for children and young people aged 10-30 years old across the UK.

Founded in 2015, Poetic Unity has provided hundreds of programmes and events every year for the community with 1,141 services provided to 40,000+ young people to date.
