Led by Terry O’Leary, Cardboard Citizens are hosting a new series of workshops joined by International Theatre of the Oppressed practitioners.

The workshops will explore games, exercises and Forum Theatre techniques that have been adapted especially for working remotely in these times. Guests facilitators will share tips and practical advice on how to successfully engage harder to reach communities.

We will use our creativity to inspire, share and learn from each other, as well as investigate ‘what next’ for Theatre of the Oppressed– it is open to Members aged 18 or over who have:

  • Taken part in Cardboard Citizens Forum Theatre Week Training
  • Have, or are wanting to, deliver Theatre Of the Oppressed workshops within the Cardboard Citizens community or have an interest in using Theatre of the Oppressed to engage other communities of interest

We are offering 10 places for the International Theatre of the Oppressed international workshops.

To apply please send either 250 words of expression or a video (no longer than a minute) expressing your interest, knowledge and experience of using Theatre of the Oppressed techniques and you would like to use it to support your work further with communities by Tuesday 3 November, 6pm.

You will then be contacted by Terry on Wednesday 4 November and be invited to a Zoom one-to-one with Terry O’Leary on either the afternoon of Wednesday 4 November or the morning of Thursday 5 November for a 15 minute slot to discuss the programme in more detail. You will then be contacted as to whether you have been successful in your application.
