Having delivered Community Check-Ins for almost a year now, we are working with Members who regularly attend to develop this space further so that it meets the needs and artistic aims of the group.
This is a space for Members to meet online to chat, share thoughts, ideas, stay connected and have a chance to express themselves creatively. These sessions are a regular part of our online programme. We want you to be included in planning and running it. We would like to plan topics/themes for each session running up until the end of the year. You can lead an activity or discussion by yourself or team up with others. See the sessions outlined below for what we have coming up over the next few weeks.
After some consultation with members, we have decided to extend the sessions. They will now run from 11am – 1pm with a 15-minute break in the middle. The Zoom link will open at 11am and the session will begin promptly at 11.15am.
We can offer professional support from the Arts Team (Terry, Clare or Kiri) to help develop your creative ideas before trying them out in a Community Check-In session. If you have an idea for a topic you’d like to discuss, or would like to lead a check-in/check-out part of a session, or lead a warm-up or ice breaker then please email Bonny: Bonny@cardboardcitizens.org.uk. Don’t forget you can team up with others!
Who are these workshops for?
These workshops are for inducted Members of Cardboard Citizens only. If you are unsure whether you are a registered Member please email Bonny@cardboardcitizens.org.uk.
Friday 6 August
Group Agreement and Reflection Session
Following on from the session on 2 July, Adar and Bonny will lead this session focusing on creating an agreement for the Community Check In Space which details the expectations and aspirations of the group. There will also be some games and the regular weekly check in.
Friday 13 August
We will have a two week break from Community Check In and there will be no sessions on Friday 20 and Friday 27 August. The Sessions will resume again on Friday 3 September.
How do I sign up?
Please sign up in advance online if you want to attend, sessions will be capped at 14 people. If you haven’t attended an online Community Check-In before please try to sign-up a few days in advance which gives the team time to contact you for a check-in in advance of each session if needed. Please note that sign-ups will close at 4pm on the Thursday before each session. If a session is oversubscribed, we will create a waiting list so that if you have signed up but weren’t offered a place that week you will be offered a place the following week.
You can join the sessions using Zoom video call (uses internet data) or by calling via phone (charged at your provider’s UK landline rate). We do not want this to be a barrier for anyone who wants to attend so please let us know if you have any access needs or require any support to take part.
