Cardboard Citizens is very excited to be partnering with MIND in Haringey to explore the issue and impact of male suicide and isolation in our communities and society.
On 10 September we will be launching Take A Minute, Save A Life to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day. From 12 September we will then be running a series of workshops giving people the chance to explore issues important to them – including the barriers, myths and preventative measures around the issue of suicide.
The workshops will be totally free and open to any males that have experienced suicidal thoughts and depression or anyone who has experienced the impact of suicide – including survivors and the bereaved and frontline staff. Through the programme participants will be able to share stories and act out solutions, as well as meet great people, and learn more about support networks available.
The stories that emerge from the workshops will be fed back to a group of our Members actor who will devise a brand new Forum Theatre piece, supported by feedback from the workshop participants, to be performed at The Pleasance on 12 October. This theatre piece will explore the issues surrounding these issues, create debate and raise awareness with a wider audience.
Details of how to reserve tickets will be announced soon. For more about the project to to take part, visit out Take A Minute, Save A Life page.
