About Hamish Pirie

Hamish was an Associate Director at the Royal Court Theatre 2014 – 2023 and the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh 2011 – 2014.

He has spent 20 years making, developing and programming new work, mostly working with writers in theatres and community settings.

He is interested in a theatre where anything is possible if it tells the story, like translating code on stage using dance, staging a Bollywood concert in a town hall fountain, a singing peace wall for Ireland’s National Theatre or an escapologist in a shed in a park.
