We are incredibly saddened to learn that Cardboard Citz Member Chris Holland passed away last month on 6th February. The cause of death is currently unknown. Chris has been a much loved and active Member with Citz since at least 2008, participating in numerous workshops and performances with us over the years. Chris was a wonderful addition to any workshop space or rehearsal room, bringing his trademark warmth, wit and twinkle in his eye. His loss will be felt by the Citz community and beyond.
Our Artistic Director and Joint CEO Chris Sonnex wanted to share the following with you all:
"I feel very privileged to have had several moments with Chris that filled my soul with laughter and joy be it in a workshop or a jokey comment about him being the “real Chris” outside on the road outside of Citz HQ. Since I started at Cardboard Citizens, he has been a constant and I will miss seeing him in our world. It’s a tremendous loss to our community and a reminder of how fleeting our moments really are. Rest in Power Chris, the real one."
We will be holding a Remembrance and Celebration of Chris’s life on Tue 16 Apr between 1:30 - 3pm at Hoxton Works.
We are also in touch with Tower Hamlets Council and will be receiving updates about when a funeral service may be taking place. If we find out more information about a funeral, we will update Members.
