As previously announced, Cardboard Citizens' hugely exciting Home Truths Festival of Heritage Events will take place from mid-April. As part of the packed programme we will be announcing a series of film events and are on the look out for short films highlighting housing and homelessness to be screened as part of the prestigious Festival.

We are looking for short films – documentary and fiction – that:

  1. Cover an element of the history of housing or homelessness in the UK over the last 150 years
  2. Reflect modern-day and recent stories of social housing

If you have made a film about such an issue – or are aware of another film you’d like to champion – and would like the chance to be included in the Festival, please email it to michael@cardboardcitizens.org.uk for consideration by our event curator.

Deadline for entries is Friday 14 April for screening events on 9 and 11 May.

Home Truths Festival of Heritage Events is made possible with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and is linked to Home Truths: Cardboard Citizens’ season of nine plays about the history of housing playing at The Bunker from 17 April to 13 May (tickets available from £10 here). The Festival will further explore this history with a fascinating line-of exhibitions, film nights, talks, workshops and a walking tour held in venues around London from mid-April to late May. The full programme will be announced very soon.
