Down & Out London to Paris Cycle Ride
10 September 2010Are you prepared to cycle from London to Paris to support Cardboard Citizens' work with homeless people?
Join us for a 3-day cycle of 230 miles (10 to 13 September): passing through the prettiest of English countryside, and then on to the tiny hamlets and bubbling brooks of picturesque France, before finishing triumphant at the Eiffel Tower in Paris!
The money we raise will support Cardboard Citizens' free performing arts workshops and performances for homeless and at-risk people in London. Every year we change the lives of hundreds of homeless and socially excluded people, using theatre to help people share their experiences and rebuild their confidence and self-esteem.
THINGS TO TAKE NOTE OF
- You will need to bring your own bike on the trip
- We will arrange for your bike to be transported back to St Pancras (for collection when you arrive on Eurostar)
- The route will predominately cover small country roads in England and France
- You will need to follow a reasonably serious course of training (ideally 3 times a week) in order to get the maximum benefit from the challenge
- You will be invited to join other cyclists for an information day in the UK
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
To secure your place you need to make a donation by cheque of £99 which is non-refundable. This donation must be sent to Cardboard Citizens by 30th May 2010. You must then endeavour to raise the remainder of the £1300 in sponsorship funds and donations for Cardboard Citizens. This includes travel, food, accommodation, guides, medical support.
